Louis Segaline (Luigi Segalini)

In the Segaline, Segalini family, there was Luigi, Mae, Thomas, John, and Camiel, who came from Italy. They may have come together, or at separate times. The various Census records for the family say that they were born in America, and Italy, depending on the Census year and the family involved. The last name of Segalini was generally changed by all family members found to Segaline. Camiel Segalini seems to be the exception, and kept his last name of Segalini.

This Luigi Segalini family may not be the Luigi that is Mae's (Mary) Segaline Taylor's brother. He is however, the only Luigi Segalini in the Census records for 1900, and the only Louis Segalini in the 1910 Census. In the 1900 Census, there were only 2 male Segalini's found in the American Census records. Luigi and Carlo.

The actual birth date for Luigi Segalini (Louis Segaline) has been provided by Mary Ann Itts to Robert G. Nooning Sr., via a hand written document. This document is believed to have been written by Thomas Martin Segaline in 1926. It was in the possession of his sister, Mary Segaline Taylor when she passed. It is attached as a scrapbook item. This family has been left in the family tree for two reasons. The first is that no other information has been found on any other Luigi Segalini or Louis Segaline. Second, and more importantly, descendants of this family may make contact with the Nooning family. Together, we may provide additional information to each other.

Immigration per 1900 Census is 1891 for Luigi, and 1892 for Domenica. However, daughter Mary is listed as being born in NY. She must have been born in Italy.

1910 Census, names changed to American versions. Luigi to Louis, Luigia to Louise, Rosa to Rosie.

1920 Census, name changed to Segaline. Immigration for both Louis and Domenica as 1889.
